Differences in joint angles during pole vaulting between male pole vaulters with and without chronic low back pain

Abstract Study aim : To determine the difference in joint angles of shoulder, hip, and trunk (angle upper torso lower torso) during vaulting between male pole vaulters with without chronic low back pain (LBP) to examine relationship range motion (ROM) maximum angle same all participants. Material methods This cross-sectional study included 17 vaulters. The participants were divided into two groups (chronic LBP control) based on their questionnaire results. Four high-speed cameras used record at 240 Hz from touchdown last step run-up straight phase. vaulter cleared bungee bars that set 90% personal best record. ROM hip flexion extension, shoulder flexion, leg raise measured. Results There was no group control group. In contrast, there a significantly positive correlation extension (p = 0.01, r 0.58). Conclusions Insufficient may result compensatory lumbar vaulting.
